United by a shared passion
for crafting the future of motorcycle racing.

Lightfighter & OrangeCat

Uniting Forces

OrangeCat Racing Team Owner Andrew Sieja met up with Lightfighter founder Brian Wismann in the summer of 2024 at Laguna Seca Raceway watching racer Jayson Uribe set a new EV lap record at the storied track. The two organizations started working together quickly thereafter, united by a shared passion for crafting the future of motorcycle racing. Since late 2024, the two teams have now competed in club races at Barber Motorsports Park, Buttonwillow Raceway, and Thunderhill Raceway together setting new records for EV motorcycles with each outing.

For the 2025 race season, OrangeCat Racing will be supporting Lightfighter’s participation in the AFM  racing series in Northern California, bringing in key personnel as well as their talented quiver of racers. The professional talent will allow the Lightfighter team to make rapid progress in their quest to show the potential for electric motorcycles to challenge some of the most potent and powerful race bikes in the club racing circuit.

I was immediately impressed with the Orange Cat Racing Team’s focus on good data and solid engineering principles to run their racing organization. It was clear to me that they are a team on the move and that while Lightfighter was pioneering a new form of powertrain, there was a ton we could learn from them as a professional motorsports team.
