OrangeCat Racing Confirms Lightfighter Team Will Not Compete at Mid-Ohio

After withdrawing from Laguna Seca following the fire that took place, the Lightfighter team will remain off the grid at Mid-Ohio while the team continues testing and system validation.

CHICAGO, Illinois - OrangeCat Racing has made the decision to continue pausing from Super Hooligan competition and will not field its Lightfighter motorcycles at the next MotoAmerica round at Mid-Ohio. 

Following the fire that occurred at Laguna Seca, we remain focused on conducting an extensive evaluation of the platform. While meaningful progress has been made, we believe additional development in the workshop and on track is necessary before returning to competition. 

Our long-term commitment is to developing a competitive, dependable, and safe electric racing platform, and this decision reflects that. We really appreciate MotoAmerica, our partners, sponsors, and the racing community for their continued patience and support throughout the development process. We’re excited to be trying something new and remain fully committed to advancing the Lightfighter program. We look forward to returning to competition when testing confirms the platform meets our expectations for safety, reliability, and performance.
